In that time the transverse ligament is gently stretched by micro amounts, until it is up to 3mm longer, than before treatment started. This gentle stretching is enough to remove the symptoms of numbness, pain and tingling associated with CTS. Many patients find that they become symptom free about half way through the treatment cycle. We recommend that patients do a five minute top up each week to keep their ligament stretched, to prevent the symptoms returning. The treatment is completely self administered in the comfort of your own home, but will only work on CTS. It is therefore important that a proper diagnosis has been made, because other similar conditions will not benefit from this form of treatment.

How Does It Work?
It uses a small hand pump, (similar to how a 'blood pressure check' device works). You simply slip on the plastic sleeve and pump up the small internal pad for 2 minutes, then release the pressure for 1 minute, and pump up again for a further two minutes, then release. That’s the first session done and it only took five minutes! Your friendly clinician; (Doctor, Chartered Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist) will be able to show you how to administer the treatment for your self.
